Alaska politics: Young and the restless
Last night I was discussing Alaska politics with a friend. For those who don't know, we have a tea-bagger for a Republican candidate for the Senate, who beat a sitting senator in the primary. That senator has announced she will run a write-in campaign. It should be noted she was first appointed to the seat by her father who was then governor. He had held the seat for three or four terms. She did win one election on her own. On the other side the Democrats had nominated a sacrificial lamb (no one of substance wanted to run against the sitting senator) who now, because of the tea-bagger's win finds himself and the democrats in a much stronger position to win, if only they had a candidate someone had heard of before. And, of course, sniping from the sidelines is the good old Governor Interrupted. The whole thing brings me to saying something I never would have expected to say. THESE GUYS MAKE DON YOUNG LOOK GOOD.
